An enhanced oil recovery model with singular data

Many oil recovery procedures can be modelled using a coupled system of partial differential equations. The mathematical and numerical analysis of these equations is complicated by the rough nature of the data and the vastly different spatial scales observed. I will give a brief introduction to the problem, the mathematical model, and the difficulties we encounter.
